Team, roles, and org switching
Invite teammates, assign owner / staff, switch between orgs.
Blazeboard has two separate sets of roles: cloud roles for your dashboard at blazeboard.co, and Pi roles for the on-device admin UI your staff use day-to-day. They’re independent — so your floor staff can sign in at the Pi without you adding them to the cloud dashboard.
Cloud roles vs. Pi roles
| Surface | Who has access | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud dashboard (blazeboard.co) | Owners — people who buy the hardware and manage billing. | Invite teammates, manage billing, configure POS, view devices across locations, pull backups. |
| Pi admin UI (on the device) | Daily operators — owners, shift leads, floor staff. | Build menus, update sold-out state, run the waitlist and pickup boards, see display analytics. |
Cloud dashboard roles are owner and member. Pi admin UI roles are super, owner, and staff. The Pi roles live on the Pi; they don’t sync to the cloud dashboard, and a cloud owner isn’t automatically a Pi super.
Invite a teammate to the cloud dashboard
- 1Open the Team page
Go to
blazeboard.co/dashboard/team. You’ll see current members, pending invites, and anInvitebutton. - 2Enter an email and pick a role
Choose owner (full access, including billing) or member (everything except billing and the team tab).
- 3Send the invite
Your teammate gets an email with a link. Clicking the link creates (or signs them into) their account and adds them to your org.
Change someone’s role
Open /dashboard/team, click the role dropdown next to their name, and pick the new role. The change is immediate — no confirmation dialog, no pending state — so double-check before you click.
Only owners can change roles. Members can’t see or edit the team tab at all.
Remove a teammate
On the same Team page, click the trash icon next to the member you want to remove. Access is revoked immediately. Their historical audit log entries stay intact — you’ll still see that they did X at time Y, but they can no longer sign in.
Belonging to multiple orgs
You can be a member of as many orgs as you’re invited to. The org switcher in the top-left of the dashboard changes your active org — and everything you do (devices, tickets, billing) is scoped to that active org.
Support tickets are org-specific. Your teammates in the same org all see the same tickets; switching to another org shows you that org’s tickets.
Transfer ownership
- 1Invite the new owner
Invite them as an owner from
/dashboard/team. They need to accept the invite before you can proceed. - 2Remove yourself (or swap to member)
Once the new owner is active in the org, you can change your own role to member or remove yourself entirely.
Troubleshooting
- Invite email never arrived. Check spam. If nothing, open the Team page — pending invites have a “Resend” button. If resend doesn’t help, verify you typed the email correctly (a typo means the invite went elsewhere).
- Teammate clicked the link and got an error. Invite links expire after 7 days. Resend from the Team page to generate a fresh one.
- I can’t see billing / team tab. You’re a member, not an owner. Ask an owner to change your role.
- I got locked out as the sole owner. Contact support — we can manually restore ownership based on the email on file.
